62. Psalm 23 – The Lord Is My Shepherd

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh (makes) me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth (leads) me beside the still waters.
He restoreth (restores) my soul: he leadeth (leads) me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest (prepares) a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest (anoints) my head with oil; my cup runneth (runs) over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell (reside) in the house of the LORD for ever.

61. The Prayer List – in continuance

Let us all pray for everyone and every circumstance on this prayer list today. Keep each other in thought and continue to pray. The effective, fervent (passionate) prayer of a righteous man availeth (avails) much. James 5:16

Our Father God in heaven
We ask that you bless each and every situation on this prayer list in the name of Jesus. Heal those that need to be healed, lift those that are low in spirit, make the weak become strong, break every chain of bondage, increase hope and faith in the non-believers and bring them into repentance for their salvation.
Dear Lord through Your holy spirit keep us on the path of righteousness for your name sake. Continue to cover us under the blood of Jesus and keep us safe from any harm, dangers or troubles seen or unseen.
We ask all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today is…

COMMUNION SUNDAY

2 Corinthians 23 – 29
For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth (eats) and drinketh (drinks) unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

Explanation:

It is to be done in remembrance of Christ, to keep fresh in our minds his dying for us, as well as to remember Christ pleading for us, in virtue of his death, at God’s right hand. It is not merely in remembrance of Christ, of what he has done and suffered; but to celebrate his grace in our redemption. We declare his death to be our life, the spring of all our comforts and hopes. And we glory in such a declaration; we show forth his death, and plead it as our accepted sacrifice and ransom. The Lord’s supper is not an ordinance to be observed merely for a time, but to be continued.
