The Untamable Tongue

In the book of James chapter 3, James describes how faith works in everyday life.  Everyday words and actions should correspond with inward faith.  The bible says, the tongue can build others up, tear them down and destroy you.  It needs to be controlled!

James 3:6 “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity.  The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.”
James 3:8 “But no man can tame the tongue.  It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”
James 3:10 “Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing.  My brethren, these things ought not to be so.”

Ask God to inject his passion in your day.  Pray for every person you pass.  These are prayer moments.  Intercede for each person you see.

Read “James 3:1-12”

AMEN!

Sin

Solomon warned his son of the sin of foolishness.  He urged him to remember what he was taught and to avoid the temptation of sin.  Do not be seduced by sin, foolishness, or lust.  These lead to moral ruin and spiritual death.

Proverbs 6:16-19  “These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him; A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.”

Be Blessed Beloved!

Confessions

Do not run away from God, run to God and Confess!

A Christian’s life is like a marathon.  It’s a lifelong, often grueling race for which we train, sweat and persevere daily.  We condition ourselves to prepare for the race.  We find ourselves running among countless other runners pressing forward towards the same goal in mind, “to complete the race.”

Not everyone makes it to the finish line.  Some runners allow sin to begin piling up on their backs, slowing their strides until they eventually collapse on the curb.  The course is difficult enough without having to carry around the heavy burden of unconfessed sin.  Confession is the only way to unload it from your back.  God is watching and waiting for you at the finish line.  He wants to see you run across it free of injury.  There is no sin that He won’t forgive.

What’s holding you back from confessing the sin in your life?  Read Psalm 51…..

Be Blessed!!
